Claims That Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne Released Tribute Songs for Raila Odinga are FALSE

Videos on YouTube, such as one at https://youtu.be/OJ48BMhI9ZQ titled "Justin Bieber _Rest in peace raila (New song release)" and another at https://youtu.be/dBL9zM6aYsM suggesting a tribute by Lil Wayne, say these artists made new songs to honor Raila Odinga after his death on October 15, 2025.

These videos popped up soon after the news and have gained some views by using the sad event. They show lyrics about Raila's life, Kenyan politics, and calls for unity, but the channels are not official.

Our Verdict

There is no proof that Justin Bieber or Lil Wayne made these songs or any tribute to Raila Odinga.

How We Checked

We looked at the YouTube videos directly, including their titles, descriptions, view counts, and comments. We also did wide searches on the web and on X (formerly Twitter) for any news or posts about these artists and Raila. This included checking official music sites, social media accounts, and big news outlets like BBC, CNN, and Kenyan media. We searched for terms like "Justin Bieber tribute Raila Odinga" and "Lil Wayne song Raila" from October 15, 2025, to now (October 22, 2025). We also checked the artists' own X accounts (@justinbieber and @LilTunechi) for any mentions of Raila or Odinga in that time.

What We Found

Both videos are on small, unverified channels with low views (under 10,000 each) and few subscribers. Comments often question if they are real, with some saying they look like AI-made content. The songs use styles like pop for Bieber and rap for Lil Wayne, but they do not match any real releases.

Justin Bieber's official YouTube channel (over 70 million subscribers) and music labels have no such song. His recent work from 2023 to 2025 is about personal topics, not African leaders. Lil Wayne's pages and label (Young Money) also show nothing. Neither artist has posted about Raila on X or anywhere else since his death.

Searches found no stories from trusted sources saying these artists made tributes. If they did, it would be big news because Raila was a key figure in Kenya, and stars like Bieber or Lil Wayne get global attention. Instead, real tributes come from Kenyan artists like Christina Shusho, Mr. Seed, Prince Indah, and Musa Jakadalla, who released songs quickly after October 15.

These videos seem part of a trend where people use AI tools to fake celebrity voices and songs for clicks, especially during big events like a death. This can spread fast on social media but misleads people looking for real info.

Raila Odinga's death is a serious moment for Kenya and Africa. Using it to push fake content for likes or views can confuse people and take away from real honors. Always check official sources for music or news to avoid fakes.
